It's a free country (well, mine is anyway) and it's only fair that having had my tirade about why Tamagotchis are terrible I should let you see the other side of the coin. These are other Tamagotchi sites that you may find interesting. How about, as a favour to me, you go into them feeling sceptical? Go on...
| The Tama Hatepage | Someone else who isn't all that keen on Tamagotchi - though I ought to mention that it's in German, so it didn't mean a great deal content-wise to me. |
| Virtual Pet | A fun piece of fiction by Richard Rae (no relation) about a chap who finds a black Tamagotchi - I read the whole thing right through and thoroughly enjoyed it. |
| Digital Pet Fever | I quote David Theil: The Onion is a satirical weekly newspaper. One of the regular features is a spoof of the infamous 'info-graphics' from USA Today. This particular one is titled 'Digital Pet Fever' and is about Tamagotchi. |
| Tamagotchi Smash! | You think I'm bad? This guy drops concrete slabs on them! Send him yours, see the destruction photos and win a T-Shirt. Nice idea! |
| Tamahonam | Here's an interesting idea. It's a bit like a Tamagotchi, but kinda tougher - read this article to find out what's hitting the market later in July. |
| Traumagotcha | Thanks to everyone who pointed this one out - a great, very funny site which (would you believe it) which is also rather anti-Tamagotchi! |
| Tamagotchi UK | A UK-based page, with second-hand Tamagotchis for sale, a rather touching graveyard and a photo gallery. |
| Tamagotchi World | Animated images of the Tamagotchis, but absolutely nothing else unfortunately. |
| Tamagotchi in the UK | A single-page site, but a very good one. Has some Tamagotchi secrets, neat animated growth charts (I dunno where everyone else is getting these animated pics from!), tips on where to buy them in the UK and even the sounds sampled. |
| Tamagotchi is Here! | Okay, the English is curious to the point of being rather amusing but it's a damned sight better than my Japanese. A popular site, and it has a copy of the Tamagotchi simulator for Windows 95 (which is nothing like a Tamagotchi, in my opinion). It's also got a Tamagotchi song, would you believe. |
| "Tamagotchi Page" | All the usual, and a version in Japanese. Not bad though, as it's written by a nine-year-old. |
If you know of any other good Tamagotchi pages, mail
me and I'll be happy to add these. It might take a while as I'm still a
bit swamped with e-mail, but they'll get there eventually...
